Szczecin- planning the common project

According to one of tasks of our pilot project I've spoken to my cluster companies and some researchers from University.

As for today I have:

- companies selling and implemeting systems for smart houses (as for now their products are mainly focus on safety and devices management, they have some soultions for heating or electricity management, without monitoring ) - they are interested in devlopment new products, but some more and precise information about the projects is needed (What's important for companies is IPR, they are asking about results of the project).

- I think that the interesting topic is developing the system for  monitoring energy use in public sector entities (that is something we don't have in Poland yet)

- as we are thinking about building the project team:

a) companies (our cluster companies are mainly focused on software and multimedia, we will rather not engage in device (sensors, etc.) or hardware production).

b) researchers (they're mainly interested in:  databases building  and data analysis, also prediction making on the basis of collected data; access control policies in distributed systems, network,  high-level synthesis of hardware-software design methods of computer networks and wireless carrier, optimizing the processing algorithms); also there is

- about the financing: maybe the Interreg IVC or http://www.eu.baltic.net/ would be nice?

Thank you Katarzyna for the feedback from your region. I'm pleased to see that you have identified some market/company needs!

Please note that with regards to funding, the 2nd option which Katarzyna mentioned "The Baltic Sea Region Programme" will be holding individual project consultations with the Joint Technology Secretariat e.g. in Riga on 8th Jan when we are there! This is something to consider, although I don't think we'll be quite ready for that yet...any thoughts?

ICT for low energy living

The goal is to bring researchers from each of the BSR Pilot clusters to discuss the possibilities of writing joint applications within the field of low energy living.

Co-location & trade fairs

A challenge for the future of the BSR region ICT industry is to give a joint communication impact when our businesses travel around the world. An ambition from all the different cluster organisations is to co-localize enterprises from each region at trade fairs.

Women Leadership

We face a future with great lack in personnel in the ICT industry in most of the BSR regions. As an industry we must use the full potential of the talent pool and start attractive more women to our industry. A gender balanced workplace open a more creative atmosphere and open the door for better products and services for end-users.
