TAT grows in the automotive industry

Malmö based Øresund IT member TAT - The Astonishing Tribe - has landed yet a new customer from the automotive industry. Already next year cars with TAT's software will be on the roads.
TAT's new customer is a car manufacturer. TAT is already working with larger manufacturers of heavy vehicles, and the launch of this collaboration is scheduled to 2011. But now the car manufacturer will be launching new models to the market already next year, and TAT's technology - which originally was developed to navigate interface in cell phones - will be used for the instrument panels. LCD panels screens will make it easy to customize the appearance. I.e. a car reversing may show a view from a camera at the back.

The fiscal crisis in the automotive industry however, makes it difficult to assess if the new business area continuously will be a success for TAT. Today it covers about 5 % of the turnover which last year was 113 mill. SEK (approx. 11.1 mill €).

- The automotive sector is not doing too well. We do not dare to expect for this new business area to cover more than about 10-15 % of our business in the long run, says CEO Charlotta Falvin.

TAT's software is available in hundreds of thousands cell phones world wide, i.e. in Sony Ericsson's and Samsung's.

Women Leadership

We face a future with great lack in personnel in the ICT industry in most of the BSR regions. As an industry we must use the full potential of the talent pool and start attractive more women to our industry. A gender balanced workplace open a more creative atmosphere and open the door for better products and services for end-users.
